Explore Destin Single-Family Homes For Sale

One of the most desirable areas along the Emerald Coast to reside and visit, the real estate market in Destin offers homebuyers and investors a lot of choice. From ranch style bungalows to luxury estates by the waterfront, the single-family housing market in this 30A city is quite hot, and properties are for sale at a surprisingly wide range of price points.

The city of Destin has a few homes for sale on the lower end. These make for great investment opportunities, but are also fantastic properties in general. Typically located in the residential neighborhoods away from the waterfront, these homes are usually older bungalows (although not exclusively so), with construction dates ranging from the ‘70s and ‘80s. They might require some renovations or updates, but they do make for cozy homes, and are usually priced around the $500,000 mark.

When it comes to these competitively-priced bungalows, it’s unlikely that they’ll belong to a gated community. HOA fees also range from non-existent to very reasonably low. Kell-Aire Gardens, for example, is a popular subdivision in Destin. What makes these homes a great choice is that they are often quite spacious, with square footage that accommodates multiple bedrooms and bathrooms. Plus, they are centrally-located in the heart of Destin, which means shops, restaurants, and entertainment opportunities are only a short drive away.

There are, of course, luxury properties available on the Destin market, too. Many of the homes for sale in this city are listed above a million dollars, for locations on the waterfront and large lot sizes make these properties highly-desirable. From an architectural perspective, these homes offer so much choice, with Mediterranean, Florida Coastal, and Contemporary being the most prevalent styles in Destin.

Waterfront homes are a true kind of luxury, and there are opportunities to own a home that either overlooks the Gulf or Choctawhatchee Bay. Quiet, charming neighborhoods are the standard here, as well as modern interior upgrades.

Destin Single-Family Home Amenities

Because Destin is located between two major bodies of water (the bay and the ocean), residents of Destin enjoy getting out and about. Whether that means working on your tan on the beautiful white sand beach, or taking the boat out on Choctawhatchee Bay, there’s so much to do and discover in this beautiful area.

Home amenities are very much dependent on the home, the price point, and the area. Homes in communities, such as Crystal Beach, may not always feature their own backyard pool, but do have one that can be used by residents of the community. As many of the single-family homes in Destin fall under the luxury category, a pool is a relatively common feature; it just might not be one for some of the lower priced properties.

When it comes to gated communities, resident amenities are often resort-like. This can include a community clubhouse, fitness center, tennis courts, and more. Golf communities, such as Emerald Bay, allow resident access to the courses. In some of the most luxurious communities, such as Holiday Isle, private beach access is another priceless amenity for residents.

Luxury homes typically come equipped with modern upgrades, and depending the property can have additional amenities, such as in-house elevators. Multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, outdoor entertainment areas, and additional rooms for office space or gaming are also common features. These homes have excellent rental potential, but are also a fantastic option for those looking for their perfect beach home.
